  • Ryan Reynolds found himself in a dangerous situation when a barrier collapsed while he was meeting fans at Comic-Con in São Paulo, Brazil.

  • Later, the actor said wife Blake Lively had made him promise he'd "come home in one piece", and luckily it looks like that might still happen.

Ryan Reynolds was almost involved in a serious accident in São Paulo, Brazil, over the weekend, where he attended Comic-Con festival.

The actor was promoting his new film Free Guy when things got a little intense during a meet and greet with a crowd of fans. The actor went towards people waiting to meet him, when the barrier separating him from them collapsed due to fans moving forward. In giving way, it almost crushed him.

Videos of the moment have since been shared on Twitter, in which you can see Ryan jump backwards as the barrier falls towards him. Joe Keery is also in the background looking shocked.

Speaking about the scary incident later, Ryan told Entertainment Tonight he was just happy everyone was OK, before explaining he had promised wife Blake Lively he'd come home in one piece.

"Well, ordinance collapsed and that was a little, I think it looked worse than it was," he claimed. "All I was worried about were the people that were—what you could tell is that they were falling, like, ‘Oh, they’re gonna be fine,’ and it’s like, ‘Oh, but that leg is gonna go,’ so I jumped out. But it was, yeah, everyone was fine.”

He added, "My only job that Blake said as I was leaving was, ‘Just come home in one piece.’ So that was my only job."

Glad you and your legs are fine, Ryan!
