The Gray Man's Ryan Gosling has revealed which superhero he'd like to portray in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As Moon Knight writer Sabir Pirzada hammers away at a Nova script, rumours are swirling about Gosling's possible involvement, but that's inaccurate, according to the star himself.

MTV's Josh Horowitz tweeted yesterday (July 12): "Next week my full chat w/Ryan Gosling for @MTVNews. But for now, an honest to goodness EXCLUSIVE.

"Ryan and I chatted about the Nova rumors yesterday which he said aren't true. BUT this morning Ryan reached out to me to say there is one superhero he wants to play... GHOST RIDER."

So there you have it, but can Kevin Feige realise Gosling's burning wish?

Nicolas Cage previously took on the role across two movies outside of the MCU – though both were universally panned by critics – while Gabriel Luna donned the flaming skull for Agents of SHIELD.

Luna's effort was even set to receive its own TV series, until the powers that be pulled the plug in 2019.

"It was really disappointing just in the end. I remember at the time I tried to have some perspective on it and you can't look back. You've got to just keep on plugging forward," commented the actor in the aftermath.

Gosling, who has a Wolfman remake in the works, would be well-suited for the Ghost Rider role, considering his extensive experience with motorbikes thanks to The Place Beyond the Pines.

Marvel's demonic character is, of course, known for tearing through the road on supernatural wheels.
