Ruth Langsford has made a significant career move in the wake of her separation from Eamonn Holmes and the beloved Loose Women presenter is understood to be taking a break from the show this week. Since the couple announced their decision to part ways last week, Ruth, 64, has been noticeably absent from the ITV daytime panel, focusing instead on her commitments with QVC, where she's been seen still wearing her wedding ring.

It is understood she will not be presenting the show this week, though the timeline for her return to join fellow panellists such as Denise Welch, Judi Love, and Charlene White remains uncertain.

“Ruth will not be back on screen this week,” a source told The Sun. They added: “She has decided to extend her break from ITV so will not yet be making a return to the Loose Women panel."

On Saturday, 25 May, it was revealed that Ruth and Eamonn were splitting up after 14 years as husband and wife. “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing,” a spokesperson told The Sun on Sunday.

While Ruth has kept silent on their split since last weekend, Eamonn, 64, expressed gratitude for the support they've received. Following his comeback on GB News, he shared his appreciation.

“So here we are on this Tuesday morning and a lot of politics. Just before we move on I would just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated,” he said.

Earlier on the show, Eamonn hinted at the eventful weekend, saying: “What a weekend it was.” His co-host Isabel chimed in with: “Indeed.” Eamonn went on: “It was. It was marvellous, marvellous, marvellous. The FA Cup Final, one of the greatest cup finals there have ever been. It just got me there [pointed to his chest], it was emotional. Anyway, Paul will be here with your sports news I don't know if he's looking back at the cup final but we are looking ahead to a lot of things as well.”

Meanwhile, it’s also been reported that Eamonn and Ruth have been “speaking every day” amid their separation. A source told The Sun: "Eamonn and Ruth are still in contact, they speak every day. Although they've separated, they're still sharing their dog, Maggie, at the moment and of course they have their son, Jack."
