Ruth Langsford shared a sweet video to Instagram of her rescue dog Maggie having some snuggly looking cuddles with her mum Joan. Revealing the pair have a pretty close bond and that Ruth herself often gets left out.

The This Morning host captioned the video: "Cuddles with Grandma ❤️ I don’t get a look in when we’re with Mum...and she keeps dog treats in her cupboard!! #grandma #maggie #rescuedog #dogstrust"

We're sure the dog treats aren't the only reason Maggie is so fond of the lovely Joan.

Ruth spoke during the lockdown about missing her mum, which so many of us can relate to, but as of last month Ruth was able to swap walkie talkie window visits for indoor ones, thanks to her mother's care home arranging Covid-safe visits.

She explained : "I got to see my Mumma again....SO happy! Covid test, PPE & only allowed 1hr but it’s worth it just to hold her hand ❤️ Thank you to all the staff for working so hard to make this happen #mum #carers"

And Maggie's been visiting too since then, to both Joan and Maggie's delight.

"Another visit with Mum and, of course, Maggie came too! Love how she chats to her! ❤️"

Maggie is such a joy and a prime example of why we should adopt not shop whenever possible.

There are so many gorgeous dogs out there that need rehoming, numbers that have grown during the pandemic, with some becoming unable to look after their dogs due to health or finances, and with so many impulse lockdown puppies bought.
