Ruth Langsford took to Instagram over the weekend to share a clever cookery tip from her close friend and cook Sam Balshaw.
In a video shared to her social media page, Ruth films Sam as she demonstrates a clever fruit cutting hack.
Sam takes a segment of sliced lemon and carefully cuts away the line of pith along the front edge of each slice. She explains that the trick will then prevent the fruit from “spitting and spraying” juice as you take a bite of it.
The prepared fruit then also looked especially neat and presentable, perfect for a barbecue or picnic fruit platter.
In the clip Ruth said her friend was always offering her tips for the kitchen although she insists, “I can cook!”
TV cook Juliet Sear agreed with the advice given in the video, as she commented “top tip!” on the clip. Other followers in the comments thanked the pair for sharing the advice and mentioned they had seen other top chefs doing the same clever trick.
As well as being busy in the kitchen with her close pal, Ruth has also been keeping on top of the gardening with her mum.
The ITV presenter recently shared a video to social media of her mum planting a selection of flowers in a raised bed. The pair opted for a range of pink and white flowers to match the rest of the blooms in the garden.
In the background, the plants appeared to be thriving in the sunshine and a variety of garden seating can be seen in the background, where Ruth has shared clips unwinding with friends in the past.
