Ruth Langsford has shared a video of her mum’s first visit to her house in over year, as lockdown restrictions were eased last week.
In the clip, Ruth and her mum clink glasses of sherry and cheers as her mum dances to Anton Du Beke’s rendition of Putting on the Ritz, while helping prep the vegetables for a celebratory roast dinner.
Alongside the video on her Instagram account, Ruth said of her mum, “Over a year since she’s stepped inside our house and she’s still full of beans, preparing vegetables, enjoying a Sherry and dancing away.”
Ruth also added that she was “an amazing woman and I’m proud to call her my Mum.”
Many of Ruth’s famous friends expressed their own joy at seeing the pair back together at home again, including Amanda Holden, Katie Piper and Rochelle Humes.
Fellow Loose Woman Jane Moore wrote “yay!” while Denise Welch said, “I feel a dance off with Vin coming on when we get him home!”
On her Instagram stories Ruth shared more clips as her mum had cuddles with the family dog Maggie. She also shared her recipe for cauliflower cheese and showcased her final table spread with the full roast dinner.
Ruth has been getting more active and started running in a bid to reach 5K, sharing her progress on social media.
The presenter revealed that yesterday’s (23 May) run combined with kitchen dancing alongside her mum meant she beat more than 10,000 steps.
