TV icon Ruth Langsford has confirmed she's making a return to daytime TV - after signing up to present This Morning over the summer.

She and husband Eamonn Holmes will take the reins of the show in July, filling in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

"We’ll be doing seven weeks from July," she told OK Magazine. "I’m looking forward to it."

Ruth and Eamonn worked on This Morning for 15 years, covering Fridays on the show - and they're now delighted to be making a return.

It's been a big couple of days for Ruth - on Sunday (13 June) Ruth shared some cute Instagram videos of her mum and dog Maggie, with them both enjoying the garden centre in the sunshine.

She captioned the clip, "Maggie’s VERY happy to see her Grandma!! Big kisses all round!" And Grandma was very happy to see Maggie too.

Ruth also proudly completed a 25 minute run as part of the Couch to 5K programme, explaining, "Can’t believe I’ve just done that! When I started Couch 2 5K six weeks ago I couldn’t imagine being able to run for 25 mins non stop but…. I JUST DID!! In need of a cold shower now (& probably a stiff gin!) SO pleased with myself!"

Well done Ruth!
