Ruth Langsford hits the salon for glamorous makeover after Eamonn Holmes split

Ruth Langsford headed to the salon for a pick-me-up amid her ongoing split from Eamonn Holmes. The Loose Women star took to Instagram to share a picture of her trip to the hairdressers. In the snap, the TV presenter could be seen enjoying some relaxation time in the salon chair, and she told followers how she was topping up her highlights.

She then thanked her hairdresser as she showed off the finished look, uploading a selfie of her lightened hair as she posed in a pair of oversized shades.

Ruth and Eamonn shocked fans with an unexpected announcement of their separation just days after Ruth had commented on the state of their marriage.

The couple issued a surprise statement via their representative at the end of May. "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing," a spokesman told The Sun on Sunday.

But Loose Women star Ruth, 64, had already given an awkwardly-timed interview to a magazine, in which she confessed she was facing a 'testing time' with her husband.

Days before announcing they had called time on their marriage, Ruth admitted that she feared Eamonn might never fully recover from his chronic back pain, a condition the GB News presenter has battled for the past two years. Surgery and daily physio sessions have offered limited relief for the 64 year old presenter's excruciating condition, reports the Mirror.

Ruth said: "I don't know how much Eamonn's mobility will improve. We live in hope. He does the physio, but there might have to be some acceptance that this might never be 100% right.

"With any care situation - and there are millions of carers in this country - it isn't always easy. It's testing but we manage as a family," she added.

Speaking in Woman's Weekly about the importance of good health and ageing, she added: "I look at Eamonn, who's had his health and back problems, and it makes you realise how important your health is."

Ruth and Eamonn married in June 2010 and have one son, Jack, who was born in 2002.

Eamonn also has three children, Declan, Rebecca and Niall, from his first marriage.

The pair first began presenting ITV daytime programme This Morning together in 2006, before being axed in 2021 and being replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.
