Ruth Langsford smiles as she's seen for first time since Eamonn Holmes split bombshell

Ruth Langsford has been pictured for the first time since announcing her split from husband Eamonn Holmes. The Loose Women presenter shared a new selfie on Instagram, but kept her ring finger hidden following the news.

Ruth, 64, posed for a selfie to promote her own QVC clothing range on social media. She joked her outfit was "all my own work" as she sported sunglasses and posed in a mirror.

The mum of one, who shares son Jack, 21, with estranged husband Eamonn, 64, then posted a second mirror selfie, this time in a lift as she headed out to work. Her ring finger was once again hidden, with the TV star wrapping her hand around a Stanley tumbler cup.

She earlier posted a tribute to her "TV son" Rylan Clark - a term she and Eamonn used on This Morning - as she filmed his show with Rob Rinder on a screen in her home.

On Saturday, 25 May, Ruth and Eamonn shared a statement confirming their marriage had come to an end. A spokesperson told The Sun at the time: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

Ruth has not publicly addressed the divorce yet, but Eamonn broke his silence on his GB News show on Tuesday, 27 May. He thanked viewers for their support following the announcement over the weekend.

"Just before we move on we'd just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated," Eamonn said on the show.

While a reason for their divorce has not yet been revealed by Ruth nor Eamonn, a number of reports are swirling on what caused the relationship's demise. Claiming that Eamonn's health battle has played a large part in the relationship, one source has explained that Ruth felt more a 'carer' than wife.

Eamonn has been battling chronic back pain after undergoing spinal surgery in 2022 and a double-hip replacement in 2016. A friend of the couple has now claimed: "Ruth has become more his carer than a wife. Eamonn has been thoroughly miserable."

Talking to MailOnline, they continued: "He has had a torrid time with his health, he's in constant pain, and the truth is he can't contain how miserable it makes him. In the end it just started to get her [Ruth] down more than she could accept. She needs her own life.

"It's a case of her wanting to get out and enjoy herself. Women at Ruth's age realise that they only have ten, 20, 30 years max left and they want to have some fun."
