Russian Troops Fire Weapons During Protest in Kherson Region

Russian forces fired their weapons in the air during a civilian protest in Nova Kakhovka, a city in the Kherson region of southern Ukraine on March 6, footage from the scene shows.

This footage, captured by Dmytro Vysotski, shows scenes in the city of Nova Kakhovka, near government buildings, where people marched against the Russian occupation of the city.

It is unclear from the footage if forces fired directly at protesters. According to local reports, one person was killed and seven were injured. Ukrainian authorities said they would continue to document evidence of war crimes committed by the Russian Federation, and said people collecting “materials, photos, and videos” were “key to punishing the main war criminal of the 21st century.” Credit: Dmytro Vysotski via Storyful
