From Women's Health

Women’s Health and Runner’s World are teaming up to learn more about your experience of running. According to Strava data, the number of people running in April-June 2020 was nearly double the year before, but this isn’t a complete picture.

That’s where the Runner’s Alliance survey comes in. We’ll be asking questions about your running habits and whether you’ve been subject to something that’s a growing issue affecting people while they run – harassment.

We’re looking for people to share their experiences with us so we can quantify just how widespread a problem this is, raise awareness and, ultimately, help make change.

However, we realise this is a delicate subject, so please only take this survey if you feel comfortable doing so.

Rest assured all your responses are anonymous and your privacy is very important to us. Our strict privacy guidelines are available to read at https://www.hearst.co.uk/privacy-notice.

How long will the survey take?

The survey should take you no longer than 6/7 minutes to complete. Unfortunately, on this occasion, there is no incentive for filling in the survey other than our sincere gratitude and the knowledge that you are helping us create journalism that accurately reflects the needs of our readers. At the end of the survey, there is a chance to leave your contact details if you are happy for a Women’s Health or Runner’s World journalist to follow up with you on your experiences. This does not guarantee contact.

Support

If your experience of harassment has affected your mental health, please seek support – Victim Support, Rape Crisis or The Samaritans may be able to help.
