From Runner's World

Runner’s World and Women’s Health are teaming up to find out more about your experiences while running.

In 2017, we published a feature about Running while Female, which detailed the high levels of harassment experienced by women runners. However, because the latest Strava data indicates that the number of people who ran between April and June 2020 was nearly double that of the year before, it seems the right time to revisit this issue.

That’s where the Runner’s Alliance survey comes in. We would like you to answer questions about your general running habits and whether you’ve been subject to any form of harassment while you run.

We’re looking for people to share their experiences with us, so we can learn how widespread the problem is, raise awareness and, ultimately, help to effect change. However, we realise this is a delicate subject, so please only take this survey if you feel comfortable doing so.

Your responses are anonymous and your privacy is very important to us. Our strict privacy guidelines are available to read at https://www.hearst.co.uk/privacy-notice

The survey should take you no longer that seven minutes to complete. Your participation, for which we are extremely grateful, will help us to continue to research and write the stories that meet the needs of our readers. In this, we will be guided by you. At the end of the survey, you can, if you wish, leave your contact details if you are happy for a Runner’s World or Women’s Health journalist to follow up with you on your experiences. However, we cannot guarantee we will be able to contact everyone who fills in this field.

Finally, if your experience of harassment has affected your mental health, please seek support – Victim Support, Rape Crisis or The Samaritans may be able to help.
