Royal Style Watch: Princess Kate's skinny jeans to Princess Beatrice's It-girl dress

Eclecticism is the word we'd reach for when describing this week's top royal looks. Royals fans were taken back through the decades with the diverse array of outfits this week, spanning 1920s Gatsby-esque glamour to modern-day denim pieces.

Leading the charge was the Princess of Wales, who coolly stepped out in skinny jeans as you can see in the clip below. Her outing was closely followed by that of Princess Charlene, who glittered in Akris as entered the public eye for the first time since the Monaco royal and husband Prince Albert denied speculation that they were separating after 12 years of marriage.

The Princess Royal followed suit, surprising fans with a decadent flapper dress that looked as if it had been plucked from a Baz Luhrmann film set.

Just like many of the director's plots, Princess Beatrice brought the romance. The royal championed cult brand The Vampire's Wife in a corduroy frock, once again jettisoning the popular royal brand into the limelight. Her sister Princess Eugenie also opted for a sweet dress aesthetic, rocking florals just in time for spring during a trip to Hong Kong.

The Princess of Wales

The Princess of Wales made a surprise trip to UK supermarket Iceland on Saturday, meeting with Executive Chair Richard Walker to discuss her #ShapingUs campaign for early childhood.

Looking the picture of elegance, the mother-of-three struck the perfect balance between sophistication and casual as she sported an effortless ensemble of skinny jeans and a blazer.

Princess Kate's look comprised of a 'Textured Double-Breasted Blazer in Ecru' from one of her favourite high street brands, Zara. The royal slipped into a pair of denim skinny jeans and layered with a cream mock-neck jumper. Adding to her thrifty outfit, the Princess accessorised with delicate £8 drop earrings from Accessorize, complete with a dainty pearl and gold disc pendant.

Princess Charlene of Monaco

Monégasque royals Prince Albert and Princess Charlene looked to be in high spirits as they attended the Monaco Women Forum Awards at the Hermitage Hotel on Friday night. Princess Charlene looked phenomenal in a glittering sleeveless dress from Akris, complete with an elegant mock neckline, fitted bodice and rippling skirt that featured a statement thigh split.

The mother-of-two accessorised with an equally dazzling pair of 'Gypsy' platinum and diamond drop earrings from luxury jewellers Graff.

If Princess Anne says the 1920s are back, then we are not complaining. The 72-year-old royal stepped out to attend the International Financing Review Awards 2023 on Monday, simultaneously serving up Roaring Twenties nostalgia and channelling the Princess of Wales' timeless style for the occasion.

The Princess Royal looked magnificent in a forest green flapper-style dress featuring embellished gem decorations, a subtle V-neckline, an art deco design, a straight, loose silhouette and intricately beaded elements positioned in asymmetrical panels that glittered under the flashing sea of cameras that awaited her arrival at the event.

Princess Beatrice

Cult brand The Vampire's Wife is a total royal fashion favourite – and Princess Beatrice is the latest member of the household to fly the flag for Susie Cave's darkly romantic label. Not for the first time, the princess stepped out in a midnight blue corduroy dress by the brand featuring a slim-fitting bodice, chic puff sleeves, pleated cuffs and a matching hem panel.

Her elegant navy dress accompanied her to a BBC Earth Experience event at London's Daikin Centre on Wednesday, proving that the princess is certainly not above a repeat wear. Princess Beatrice previously wore The Vampire's Wife's 'The Corduroy Festival Dress' last June during the Party at the Palace, a celebration held as part of the Platinum Jubilee.

Styling the piece differently in concordance with the new fashion season, Princess Beatrice teamed her dress with a slim black belt to cinch in her waist and provide a focal point.

Princess Eugenie

Princess Eugenie's fashion sense has become synonymous with ditsy designs. It turns out that her maternity style is no different, meaning we have a host of spring-ready looks to visually chew on. On Friday, images of the pregnant royal were shared online by a close friend, revealing her latest look to enchant her doting fashion followers.

Princess Eugenie, 33, looked radiant in a blue and black dalmatian print frock by high street favourite Whistles. The £149 shirred maxi dress boasted a loose-fitting silhouette, long sleeves, tie-fastening cuffs, a sweet shirred effect and a quirky animal print.

The mother-of-two-to-be strapped a leather crossbody bag by Louis Vuitton across her front and smiled for a photograph with friends while enjoying a day out at an exhibition in Hong Kong.
