This week saw Prince William, the Prince of Wales, and his wife, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, get all dressed up to welcome the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, to the UK – and after they shared photos of the special occasion on social media, it seems like royal fans all had the same thought.

To mark the special visit, the Prince and Princess of Wales joined King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort, for the Ceremonial Welcome for the President at Horse Guards Parade, London.

After the welcome, the Wales' team posted a picture of the couple (who have been married for over a decade and who share three children; Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis) on Instagram, along with the caption "🇬🇧 🤝 🇿🇦 A pleasure to welcome President Cyril Ramaphosa to the UK".

Quick to jump in the comments, royal fans were eager to remark on how 'beautiful' and 'regal' the Princess looked in her cranberry-coloured outfit complete with matching hat, with many remarking how she looks 'like a Queen' already. When Prince William does eventually ascend the throne, it's highly likely that Kate will inherit the title of 'Queen Consort' currently held by King Charles' wife, Camilla.

"The Princess of Wales looks like a queen already ❤️" wrote one social media user, garnering over 300 likes of agreement in response. Another added, "Kate looks amazing 😍".

A third comment on how much the Princess' purple Emilia Wickstead coat dress looks on her, remarking, "Love this colour on HRH The Princess of Wales". Other eagle-eyed royal enthusiasts spotted that Kate was wearing Queen Alexandra's Three Feathers Brooch, which has a Prince of Wales feathers emblem on it.

The piece of jewellery has a long history, having been a wedding gift to Queen Alexandra when she wed King Edward VII in 1863, the then-Prince of Wales. It has since been worn by both Princess Diana and Camilla, Queen Consort.
