Nothing warms our hearts more than seeing the royal family pose together for their official Christmas card photos.

The royals have sent out Christmas cards by post for decades – just check out Princes William and Harry looking adorable in the one sent out by Prince Charles and Princess Diana in 1987 – but social media has meant that we can all view their festive offerings more easily than ever before.

In recent years, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have sparked a trend for posting their official Christmas card photos on Instagram. While no festive photo was officially shared by the royal couple in 2019, the Cambridges have picked up the tradition again in 2020.

On Wednesday (16 December), the Cambridges shared a stunning family snap with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
