Princess Beatrice married husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a secret wedding ceremony last Friday, but it seems the Italian property developer was already very much part of the family.

Originally due to get married in London in May in front of 150 guests, the happy couple had to postpone their wedding due to the pandemic. So, instead, they chose to get married in secret in a small ceremony in Windsor, with just a handful of close family and friends present. And it seems those close family and friends are still feeling the love from the happy day, as the well-wishes keep pouring in on social media.

Beatrice's mother, Sarah Ferguson, posted a quote in tribute to her eldest daughter on Instagram, where she expressed how 'proud' she felt watching her walk down the aisle, along with 'Dear Edo;' the nickname the Duchess of York has for her son-in-law.

The quote read: 'Happiness cannot be travelled to, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude. (Denis Waitley).'

Fergie caption the photo: 'Thank you to all the very special and kind people that took the time and trouble to send amazingly caring and supportive messages ... never has a mother been more proud than the wedding of Eugenie and Jack, and again with my Beatrice’s loving wedding to Dear Edo. I am so lucky with my girls, and now the best sons-in-law.'

This isn't the first time Edoardo has referred to by the pet name, as Beatrice's younger sister – Princess Eugenie – also shared her congratulations for the couple on social media earlier this week, referring to him as 'Dear Edo', too.

Using nicknames is a long-running tradition in the Royal Family, with Eugenie often calling her sister 'Beabea,' Prince George calling his grandmother, the Queen, 'Gan-Gan' and Prince Phillip affectionately nicknaming his wife 'Cabbage!'
