The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have lead tributes to Prince Philip on his 99th birthday.
They shared two images featuring Prince Philip on their social media accounts, one of him with William and another with Kate.
"Wishing a very happy birthday to the Duke of Edinborough!" the caption read.
The royal is celebrating with the Queen at Windsor Castle, where they have been self-isolating together - instead of living at their usual residence, Buckingham Palace. The royal family also released a new portrait of the Queen and Prince Philip to mark the occasion, which was taken in the grounds of Windsor Castle last week.
In the image the Queen can be seen wearing a spring-like floral dress by Angela Kelly, her personal wardrobe advisor, with the Cullinan V diamond brooch — an 18-carat, heart-shaped piece she inherited from Queen Mary in 1953. The Duke of Edinburgh is all suited up in a jacket and Household Division tie. The portrait - a rare new photograph of the couple - was taken by a Press Association photographer.
The royal family's official Instagram account also took followers on a trip down memory lane in celebration of Philip's birthday, sharing a series of old black-and-white images of the prince.
Despite not being able to attend public engagements due to social distancing restrictions, the Queen has still been working remotely. She released an uplifting statement last week to mark Volunteers' Week, thanking all those who "give themselves so freely and selflessly in the service of others". Her voice also appeared in a royal family Zoom call praising nurses for all their hard work in recent weeks.
She has also recorded two video messages during lockdown, one to mark VE Day, and a rare unscheduled broadcast to address the coronavirus pandemic.
