Royal baby name odds: James, Alexander and Arthur bookies' favourites for name of Baby Sussex

James, Alexander and Arthur are the bookies’ favourites for the name of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first child.

Royal fans are eagerly waiting to see what the royal couple are going to name their new baby after the Duchess gave birth to a boy at 5.26am on Monday morning.

As the world awaits more news of the baby, which is seventh in line to the throne, bookmakers have revealed the favourites for what they think Harry and Meghan will name him.

According to Betfair, James and Alexander are joint-favourites for the baby’s name at 7/2, with Arthur following close behind at 6/1.

Bookies are giving 12/1 odds on them naming their son Edward or Oliver, with Jacob, Phillip and Charles a little behind at 14/1.

However, Ladbrokes has Arthur as the favourite in the betting, putting the name head of the market at 5/1.

Philip and Albert are shortly behind at 6/1, while James and Alexander sit at 8/1 and 10/1.

The latest odds come as an overjoyed Duke of Sussex described how his baby boy "is absolutely to-die-for".

A thrilled Harry, speaking on camera at Windsor Castle's Royal Mews, revealed that Meghan had given birth early on Monday morning and it was the "most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined".

The baby boy - an eighth great-grandchild for the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh - arrived at 5.26am, weighing 7lb 3oz.
