She is known for her polished and ladylike personal style, but last night Rosie Huntington-Whiteley tried out a whole new look as she sat on the front row of the Alexander Wang show in New York.

The supermodel swapped her usual aesthetic for a grungy one in the form of a chainmail-inspired dress, slicked-back hair and black lace. The ensemble also featured a sheer black high-necked top underneath the frock, which included a sleeve/glove hybrid.

The model finished off her look with a pair of black patent heels and a skinny black belt. Her make-up was also a departure from her usual look, opting to have bare lips and a smoky eye.

Often choosing to wear polished trouser suits or elegant dresses, this ensemble marked a striking departure for Huntington-Whiteley – and while we love her usual style, she definitely made this work too.

At the show, she sat on the front row alongside the likes of fellow model Jourdan Dunn and watched Bella Hadid, Kaia Gerber, Lara Stone and Behati Prinsloo strut their stuff on the catwalk for the first of Alexander Wang's collections since leaving the New York Fashion Week schedule. He will now show in June and December, rather than the usual spring/summer and autumn/winter format.
