A Rod breaks his silence on J Lo and Ben Affleck reconciliation rumours. Sort of.

Alex Rodriguez responded in an interesting way to a question about former fiancée Jennifer Lopez's rumoured reconciliation with Ben Affleck, which emerged in the news just weeks after Rodriguez and Lopez announced their split.

It's been a dramatic few weeks, hasn't it? First off, back in March A Rod and J Lo were rumoured to have split following unverified cheating allegations against him. But the couple quickly denied the split, releasing a statement saying that they were "working through some things", while Lopez clapped back at the speculation in a video on TikTok, in which she called the rumours "dumb."

Then just a few weeks later they confirmed they had, in fact, split, releasing a statement to the press explaining that they had realised they were "better as friends". However it all got a bit confusing when A Rod shared a video of what looked to be a shrine to their relationship on his Instagram Stories.

Fastforward to 11th May and we were all pretty surprised when pictures emerged of Jennifer and former fiancé Ben Affleck returning from a luxury skiing trip to Montana together. Obviously the internet went into overdrive. Many celebrities, including Affleck's best friend Matt Damon spoke out about how they hoped the reconciliation rumours were true. But one person we had yet to hear from was A Rod himself.

Well now, it looks as though Rodriguez has finally responded (sort of) to the Bennifer rumours. While heading out for dinner in Miami Rodriguez was approached by a journalist who asked him what he thought of the news. At first, Rodriguez didn't respond directly to the question, but eventually he simply replied "Go Yankees."

According to a source Rodriguez was said to have been really surprised by the news, since he had reportedly hoped that he and Lopez might reconcile. The source told Page Six, "“He truly thought they would be able to make it work and reconnect."
