'Rock the Block' Is Returning to HGTV with a Major Twist
It's official! HGTV is bringing back Rock the Block for a fifth season, and the competition series will have a big twist: For the first time, all of the teams are previous competitors on the show, and this time, they're heading for the beach. Previous seasons have featured homes in Georgia, South Carolina, Colorado, and California. Season 5 takes place in Treasure Island, Florida.
Fan favorites Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (Renovation Island), Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas (Bargain Block), Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis (Unsellable Houses), and Page Turner and Mitch Glew (Fix My Flip) will have six weeks and a budget of $250,000 to renovate the waterfront homes. Another familiar face, Ty Pennington, will return as the host.
Loren Ruch, HGTV's head of content, explained, "This season’s four expert teams know what it takes to compete on the block, so we’ll keep them on their toes and crank up the intensity with unexpected new challenges. Our stars are ready for a rematch and won’t hold back to win it all."
Bryan and Sarah Baeumler shared the news with their followers on Instagram. Sarah wrote, "We’re back and ready to win!! Season 5 of #RockTheBlock is returning to @hgtv in March 2024! Get ready as we crank up the intensity, bring new challenges, and of course, keep the friendly competition alive! @bryanbaeumler." The announcement was met with excited comments like, "LETTTSSSS GOOOO!!! #WINNINGTEAM 🏆🏆🏆" and "Can’t wait to watch you two. Your house was GORGEOUS last season."
Season 5 of Rock the Block is slated for a March 2024 premiere on HGTV. If you missed the first four seasons, they're available to stream on Max.
