Four-time SI Swimsuit model Robyn Lawley had the opportunity to honor Día de Los Muertos, Day of the Dead, while on location of her 2017 shoot in Mexico.
The Latin American holiday is traditionally celebrated on Nov. 1 and 2nd, and helps families pay tribute to and remember their late loved ones and ancestors.
The Australia native was photographed by Ruven Afanador in tons of colorful, printed and festive bikinis and moody, sultry spooky glam. She even posed for the camera arm-in-arm with a skeleton, a signature decoration of Día de Los Muertos.
“When I found out about my third year, I was super excited. I love the team. I love the people. It’s a lot of fun,” Lawley said at the time of her photoshoot. “I’m all for a powerful shot. These are the images that are going to last the test of time.”
The mom of one recently reflected on her experience with the brand, when her phone automatically made an adorable recap video including some behind the scenes photos and videos of her time in Mexico.
“Haha I love how our iPhones put memory videos together for us! This video is a flashback to one of my favorite shoots!! The 34-year-old mom of one, who is the host of the Every Body With Robyn Lawley, made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2015 with photographer by James Macari in Wyoming. She returned the following year, and traveled to Malta to pose for Ben Watts.
Lawley‘s most recent feature with the magazine was in 2018, when she modeled for a special and powerful in-studio project titled “In Her Own Words” with photographer Taylor Ballantyne.
