Rio Ferdinand has laid bare his ultimate "dealbreaker" that could lead to the "end" of his marital bliss with his his wife Kate. The pair, who started dating in 2016 before tying the knot in a lush ceremony in 2019, are blessed with a blended family as parents to their two little ones; toddler Cree and baby-Shae, born just last year. While Kate is a stepmum to Rio's three children; Tate, Lorenz, and Tia, from his marriage to the late Rebecca Ellison.

In a discussion on Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch's podcast, The Therapy Crouch earlier this year, the duo delved deep into their relationship's dynamics. Former Manchester United star turned sports pundit, Rio, confessed a dread that he believes might sway his relationship with Kate - using the toilet.

In surprising confession, Rio revealed that while on holiday trips, he refrains from using their hotel room's toilet for certain needs. Instead, he prefers roaming around in search of an alternative restroom, even if it means late-night wandering.

The 45-year-old sports legend admitted: "We go on holiday and we have a room. I know there's loads and loads of people that are doing late night shifts that have seen me walking round hotels in the middle of the night looking for a disabled toilet or a spare toilet - to go for a number two. Because I refuse to do it in the same room. I've got a serious issue."

Former TOWIE star Kate - who also appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with Rio - seems to be in a similar boat, as she also has a unique way of keeping the spark alive in her relationship with Rio.

The footballer continued: "Kate has never farted in her life. She doesn't even go for a number two. If she farted in front of me I swear it could be over, romantically."

While chatting with Peter and Abbey, Rio continued to share an amusing anecdote about a friend's unusual bathroom setup - explaining that they have two toilets next to each other that they have dubbed 'thrones'

Clearly not comfortably with going in front of one another, Rio added that being 'that comfortable' is 'horrendous'. Kate, 32, then confirmed her husband's comments as she said: "We can't even talk about that word."

This revelation comes after Rio admitted he "struggles" to eat in his own home, due to his unpopular eating habits, during his and Kate's recent Celebrity Gogglebox appearance. He and Kate appeared to disagree on the matter, with Rio defending himself against her claims that he eats "like a washing machine".

"I struggle to eat now in the house. If we haven't got music playing on full blast, you don't want to sit near me nor do the boys, and especially Tia," Rio told his wife.

Kate said: "Do you not think it might just be a 'you thing' now then? It's not an 'us thing'." However, Rio noted that no one has "ever said anything" to him about his eating habits throughout his life.

"I think people are just being nice," Kate laughed, as Rio then got to work defending himself. He responded: "I've been around all my team mates for years in close proximity, and no one has gone 'oh my god, Rio is like the wildest eater'."

"It's like a washing. machine!" Kate told him, but he was adamant his eating can't be that bad, as he claimed football is the "harshest environment" and no one "ever said it".
