Watch The ASAP Rocky Rihanna 'Proposal' That's Caused A Stir Among Fans
In 2020, it was reported that Rihanna and ASAP (or A$AP) Rocky had turned their friendship up a notch, elevating them to couple status.
Following in the footsteps of Hailey and Justin Bieber, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker (and Monica and Chandler?), the Fenty founder and rapper were friends for several years before they became a couple.
In fact, both have dated other high-profile people over the past few years, with Rihanna finding love with businessman Hassan Jameel and ASAP previously dating Kendall Jenner.
Then came the news in January 2022 that they were expecting their first child together.
Rihanna's shock pregnancy became public knowledge when she was photographed wearing an unbuttoned pink vintage Chanel coat that exposed her bump.
Since then, they've been spotted out on several occasions and even travelled to Rihanna's home country of Barbados together in April.
They may have stayed particularly private about their love lives prior to now, but things are seemingly changing.

May 2022: ASAP Rocky 'proposes' to Rihanna in his music video
ASAP Rocky has 'proposed' to Rihanna, with whom he's expecting his first child, in his latest music video.
In the clip, the rapper is seen presenting his real-life partner with a gold grill, which is seemingly an ode to his commitment to her and the future of their relationship.
The new single from Rocky, namely 'D.M.B.' features mum-to-be Rihanna appearing as a bride in a red wedding dress with a matching veil, carrying a bouquet of red roses.
The camera then shows Rocky grinning, revealing his gold teeth that spell out the words 'Marry me?'
The 'We Found Love' singer responds to him by revealing her own gleaming grill that reads: 'I do.'
The song also shows Rocky appearing to confess his love for her.
He raps: 'My angel and my Goddess, when my head get clouded/My head get cloudy, my thoughts get cloudy/You're my soulmate, my Goddess (My soulmate)/And baby (I fell in love with you).'
One YouTube user commented on the video: 'You can tell he loves her to death, it's awesome to see this kind of love still exists. [sic]'
'Best proposal of all time, [sic]' added another.
'Can't believe I'm actually crying to this. I'm so happy for them, [sic]' wrote one fan.
Rihanna's pregnancy was revealed in January when she was seen braving the cold in New York with an unbuttoned pink vintage Chanel coat.
She had her hands in her jean pockets to further emphasise her bump, and in one photo, Rocky was seen sweetly kissing her on the forehead.
February 2022: ASAP Rocky is smitten with Rihanna on red carpet
During a red carpet interview with E! News on February 11 at Rihanna's Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin event in Los Angeles, ASAP Rocky couldn't help but gush about his partner.
When asked 'what's your favourite [Fenty] product' by a journalist, the rapper replied 'her', while pointing at Rihanna. The singer laughed at the response and said 'he's a keeper', before the pair packed on the PDA together.
January 2022: Rihanna and ASAP Rocky sport matching styles for a date night
Rihanna and ASAP Rocky looked every bit the strong, happy and impeccably dressed couple as they were seen heading out for a dinner date at Nobu in West Hollywood this week (January 10).
The duo nailed it in the street style stakes, wearing comfortable yet chic oversized looks – perfect for a chilly winter's evening out. Rihanna looked cool as ever, elevating a grey tracksuit with white Prada heels and statement sunglasses, while ASAP topped baggy jeans with a logo hoodie and varsity jacket.
September 2021: Rihanna on her and ASAP Rocky's confusion over Met Gala appearance
Rihanna and ASAP Rocky might have coordinated their Met Gala looks earlier this month, but from the sounds of it, the night was rather haphazard for the pair.
In an interview with E! News' Daily Pop the entrepreneur admitted they weren't even sure if there were gong to attend the fashion night of the year.
'We weren't even sure if we were going to go, so separately we were planning our looks just to be prepared,' she said.
'We ended up getting ready together and going and I didn't even realise we were on a carpet together until somebody said, "You're making your debut," and I was like, "Oh, sh*t".
Fortunately their red carpet debut went without a hitch, with RiRi wearing a Balenciaga black ensemble while her beau wore a colourful blanket jacket over a tuxedo.
Rihanna and ASAP Rocky make Met Gala debut
The undisputed queen of the Met Gala, Rihanna, arrived at the event on September 13 in fashionably late style and was accompanied by beau ASAP Rocky.
The singer wore a striking black Balenciaga oversized look complimented by Bulgari jewellery and Maria Tash earrings for the America: A Lexicon Of Fashion theme while Rocky wore what can only be described as a multi-coloured blanket, which he soon removed to show a black open tuxedo jacket, black trousers and a white frilled shirt with a brooch.
The cosy couple held hands, cuddled up and laughed together on the red carpet, with the rapper also leaning in to kiss his partner's cheek in front of the camera.

September 2021: Rihanna and ASAP Rocky visit Nicki Minaj and her son
With new relationships also comes the territory of meeting your partners' family and friends, double dates and visiting friends babies and kids - which is what Rihanna and ASAP Rocky have been getting up to recently!
Of course when it's two global superstars in the couple, the friends are likely to also be in that league too.
On September 6, Nicki Minaj shared a picture of when Rihanna and Rocky came to visit her, her husband Kenneth Petty and the couple's son.
In the photo, Minaj adorably has her Burberry-clad son on her knee while ASAP Rocky puts his arm round a smiling Rih who is sat next to the new mother, and her frequent collaborator.
July 2021: Rihanna and ASAP Rocky go out on date night
Proving that they are one of the most stylish celebrity couples around, Rihanna and ASAP Rocky looked the part when they headed out hand-in-hand for dinner in Miami, Florida.
Rihanna wore a flame-embossed oversized shirt by Vetements with teeny tiny denim shorts and heels, while ASAP also went for some bright colours with his outfit wearing sweats and a t-shirt with neon orange and green lightning bolts.
While the colours weren't on quite the same level as the outfits for their recent music video shoot (see below), the new couple on the block are continuing their co-ordination even in subtle ways.

The artists were seen together in the Bronx, New York in between takes of filming a music video on July 11.
For the shoot, Riri is seen wearing a pink and orange fluffy jacket, paired with lime green heels and a bright yellow bandeau while ASAP co-ordinates with a bright green fluffy hat with purple streaks.

The weekend shoot also took place on Saturday where the couple were again photographed in between takes holding hands and cuddling up to one another.
July 2021: Rihanna and ASAP Rocky have date night in NYC
Weeks on from Rihanna and ASAP breaking the internet at their PDA-filled Barcade date night while wearing a fluffy pink hate (Rihanna) and head to toe leather (ASAP Rocky), he couple have been photographed out on another date, with Rihanna wearing an excellent hat once again.
Photographers glimpsed the couple heading out in Manhattan on July 8, with the 'Problems' rapper spotted driving Rihanna in a Rolls Royce.
For the night out, ASAP Rocky stayed true to his signature style in a leather jacket while Rihanna did the same, wearing a mint green Prada bucket hat and sunglasses combination, a graphic slogan tank top tee, blue jeans and white pointed court shoes.
June 2021: Rihanna and ASAP Rocky show PDA on rare date night
Usually preferring to keep their relationship of almost a year under the radar, the artists and collaborators were spotted out on a date in New York City on June 23.
Rihanna - looking every inch the style queen that she is - wore a pink fluffy hat to accessorise her a pink midi slip dress with a thigh high split. Matching up to his partner in the style stakes, Rocky wore a leather jacket covering a burgundy tank top and leather trousers for the date at arcade style bar, Barcade in the city.
In photographs captured from the night, Rihanna and Rocky cuddle up to one another at several points as they sat at the bar, walked around the venue and played video games.
The couple later left Barcade with Rocky putting a protective arm around his girlfriend while attempting to shield them from the bright lights of the photographers.
June 2021: ASAP Rocky thinks he's 'blessed' to be with Rihanna
ASAP Rocky has spoken about his girlfriend yet again - this time at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of his documentary, Stockholm Syndrome, over the weekend.
'[It's] important having that support in real life, you know?' Rocky told Entertainment Tonight about his partner's cameo in his new project. 'It's amazing and I'm honestly truly blessed, for real.'
'The documentary is all about showing honesty, authenticity, purity.'
May 2021: ASAP Rocky gushes over 'the One' Rihanna
The rapper has finally confirmed his long rumoured relationship with Rihanna.
In a new interview with GQ, ASAP Rocky he couldn't help but praise his partner after months of fans questioning 'are they, aren't they?'
At the beginning of the interview, the musician called the singer 'the love of my life' and dubbed her 'my lady'.
Later on, he opened up about what it's like to be in a relationship, noting that it's 'so much better'.
'So much better when you got the One,' he repeated. 'She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones... I think when you know, you know. She's the One.
'Rocky' also discussed the possibility of parenthood, adding: 'If that’s in my destiny, absolutely.' He later commented: 'I think I’d be an incredible, remarkably, overall amazing dad. I would have a very fly child. Very.'
April 2021: Rihanna And ASAP Rocky Wear Matching Leather Outfits On Date Night
Rihanna and the 'Problem's rapper were photographed leaving Delilah restaurant in Los Angeles together on April 13. Rihanna led the way, wearing a long brown leather coat, strappy sandal, sunglasses and a face mask while ASAP walked behind, also in leather wearing black leather trousers, a T-shirt and bomber jacket.
December 2020: Rihanna and ASAP Rocky Spend The Holidays Together
To round of 2020, the couple spent some time together in Rihanna's home country, Barbados with Rihanna's friends and family. TMZ obtained pictures of the two hand in hand and on a catamaran cruise together.
A month earlier, in November, a 'source' confirmed to People that the former friends were definitely a couple.
August 2020: ASAP Rocky Stars In Rihanna's Fenty Skin Campaign
Launching her skincare branch of Fenty Beauty last August, Fenty Skin, Rihanna enlisted ASAP to star in the campaign as the male model opposite her.
In a beautiful shot of the two sat in front of a lake shared to her Instagram page, Riri captioned the picture: 'That’s right baby...@fentyskin is for my fellas too!'
To promote the line, ASAP and Riri gave a joint interview to GQ and Vogue, which saw Rihanna ask the 32-year-old rapper what his skin type was and he replied: 'Handsome'.
January 2020: Rumours First Surface That Rihanna Is Dating A$AP Rocky
After it surfaced that Rihanna had ended her relationship with businessman Jameel after three years, The Sun reported she and Rocky ‘shared a hotel suite’ during a trip to New York for a concert and were forming a relationship.
However, at the time, a source denied this rumour to E! saying that Rihanna was single, noting: 'She wants to be single and isn't going to jump into something. She's hanging out with ASAP Rocky, but she is not dating him.'
The rumours continued for a few months, until People reported that they had confirmed the couple's relationship 11 months later in December 2020 and suggested their relationship was 'new'. So, who knows?
December 2019: ASAP Rocky Supports Rihanna At The Fashion Awards
Attending as friends, the pair were seen walking the red carpet together at the British Fashion Council’s Fashion Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where Rihanna's Fenty label was awarded a prize.
Later that month, the ‘Only Girl In The World’ singer attended his show in Stockholm, Sweden.
September 2019: ASAP Rocky Attends Rihanna's Diamond Ball
The rapper was on the guestlist for Rihanna's annual Diamond Ball at Cipriani, Wall Street which benefits her Clara Lionel Foundation.
June 2018: Rihanna and ASAP Rocky Attend Louis Vuitton Show
The friends were pictured laughing, smiling and chatting on the front row at the Virgil Abloh's Louis Vuitton menswear runway show during Paris Fashion Week.
2013: Rihanna Stars In ASAP Rocky's 'Fashion Killa' Video and ASAP Rocky Supports Rihanna On Tour
The two supported each other's careers and collaborated a lot in 2013 when Rihanna asked Rocky to be the supporting act for her Diamonds tour. Meanwhile, Rihanna was the leading cameo in ASAP Rocky's music video for 'Fashion Killa'.
At the time, ASAP Rocky was asked about existing rumours back then as to the state of their friendship/relationship to which he reportedly told Distractify: 'I don't even look at her like that. She's sexy, but I'm good.'
September 2012: Rihanna And ASAP Rocky Perform Together AT MTV VMAs
For the MTV Video Music Awards, Rihanna and ASAP Rocky took to the stage at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles for a medley of the singer's hits, 'Cockiness' and 'We Found Love'.
