Richard Madeley can't wait to 'get started' on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

Richard Madeley can't wait to get started on this year's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

ITV officials released the confirmed line-up of the 2021 reality competition, hosted by Ant and Dec, on Monday evening, and occasional Good Morning Britain host Madeley sent in a video to the show on Tuesday morning to discuss his participation in the series.

In the video, Madeley shared that he was "so bored" of quarantining in Wales, where the competition is being held once again this year, that he would happily take on any Bushtucker Trial challenge to give some form of entertainment.

"I've been in quarantine for about 10 days now and, if any of you have been in quarantine, oh God, it's boring. I mean, I'd welcome any trial just for something to do," he said. "It's very pretty though, I'm on a Welsh farm, a little cottage here, nice views and all the rest of it but I just want to get started."

Turning the camera around to show off his I'm a Celebrity boots, he added, "They've given us some of the costume - our boots that we've got to wear in the castle. Why we have to wear jungle boots in the castle I can't guess, unless it's to keep the rats out. There are ghosts as well apparently in the castle so that will be fun."

The 65-year-old presenter ended his video by saying "a final bye bye" to his "beloved" wife Judy Finnigan and telling viewers, "See you on the other side - wish me luck."

Madeley will be joined in Gwrych Castle by The Saturdays' Frankie Bridge, music producer Naughty Boy, former footballer David Ginola, ex-Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips, BBC Breakfast's Louise Minchin, Emmerdale actor Danny Miller, Olympic diver Matty Lee, Paralympic champion Kadeena Cox, and Radio 1Xtra DJ Snoochie Shy.

This year's series kicks off on Sunday.
