The RHS #MyChelseaGarden competition in partnership with The One Show is back for 2021, as the organisation asks the nation to share pictures of their green spaces.

This year, the RHS is exploring how gardens of all shapes and sizes, indoors and outdoors, have helped people during lockdown, over the past 12 months.

There are four categories to the competition: Back Garden, Front Garden, Alternative Garden and Community Garden.

This means that if you don’t have a lot of outdoor space and plant along a windowsill, on a balcony or even only keep indoor plants, you can still enter the competition in the Alternative Garden category, which also covers allotments.

One winner will be selected from each category, receiving a special RHS Award as well as four public day tickets to this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which takes place 16 to 21 September (a separate, RHS Virtual Chelsea event will take place in May).

An additional “Best in Show” winner will be selected from entrants from all four categories as a separate award.

The competition will be judged by a mix of One Show faces and gardening experts, including presenter Alex Jones, gardening personality Monty Don and the RHS Head of Shows Judging, James Alexander-Sinclair.

Anyone can share their garden area on social media using the #MyChelseaGarden and then, to enter, submit one picture along with up to 200 words explaining how the green space has helped during the last year. You can submit your entry on The One Show’s website.

Entries opened at 7pm last night (6 April) and will close at midnight on Sunday 18 April. The winner will be announced the week of the RHS Virtual Chelsea, which takes place 17 to 21 May.
