We've been ready and waiting for the return of Emily in Paris since the second series was announced last year. The show remains one of the most talked about series in all aspects: from its extraordinary fashion curated by Patricia Field (whose credits include Sex and the City and The Devil Wears Prada) to slightly ridiculous plot details.

In preparation for the new release, let’s give you a round up of some of what went down in Emily In Paris season one.

Emily moved to Paris from Chicago

Emily moved across the Atlantic from Chicago to Paris, going from a marketing assistant to social media influencer in the process. Her extravagant outfits became a talking point in the whole show and were a point of contention between Emily and her boss, Sylvie.

We watched Emily navigate her way through the social politics of her new job in the marketing business, Savoir, as she tried to impress her boss, their clients and the Parisian locals throughout season one.

Emily suffered a major love triangle

The wicked love triangle between our good friend Emily, ambitious chef Gabriel and gallery owner, Camille, was the main reason we tuned in, right?

Emily and Gabriel's will-they-won't-they flirty friendship was thrown into disarray when Emily formed a strong friendship bond with his girlfriend, Camille. When Gabriel announced his plans to open a new dream restaurant in Normandy, Camille decided to break up with him. Meanwhile, Emily began a relationship with Pierre’s nephew, Mathieu Cadault.

In the season finale, Emily tells Gabriel of her feelings for him whilst Gabriel announces his plans to remain in Paris after he secures an investor to help him open a restaurant. The two finally get together. Eek.

Emily eventually impressed her boss

Despite often falling short, suffering a minor firing incident, Emily always managed to find a way to succeed. The season ended with her reviving disheartened designer Pierre Cadault, helping him stage a show in the season finale that was remembered by everyone.

We swooned over Paris

The lights, the fashion, the events, the ballet, the views – it all featured in season one. We watched Emily and ex-nanny turned wannabe singer, Mindy, become besties and live out their Pinterest-inspired goals. And we longed to work in the fashion industry, being submerged in the world of designers, drama and love – here’s hoping saison deux will be everything and more!
