Reghabi Is Primed for a Major Role In ‘Severance’ Season 2
The latest episode of Severance introduces viewers to several important side characters moving forward, both familiar and new. For starters, we learn more about all the weird goat people, including Lush (Gwendoline Christie from Game of Thrones). It’s still not clear why Lumon Industries needs an animal-breeding department, but cloning is still very much on the table.
The Apple TV+ drama also bumps up the roles of Dylan’s (Zach Cherry) wife Gretchen (Merritt Wever from Nurse Jackie) and former Lumon employee Asal Reghabi (Fargo’s Karen Aldridge). While Gretchen’s role in Dylan’s Outie/Innie love triangle is easier to understand, fans may need a helpful refresher on Reghabi. After all, it’s been three years since season 1! If it’s time to reintegrate her character into the series (see what I did there?), let’s make sure we have our minds right first.
Who is Reghabi?
Audiences first met Reghabi back in season 1, episode 6, after Mark S.’s (Adam Scott) former coworker Petey (Yul Vazquez) started reintegration. For those who don’t recall, Petey was Mark S.’s best friend at Lumon and the person who helped Mark begin his investigation outside of work. Sadly, the process of reintegrating his Outie with his Innie caused Petey to experience “reintegration sickness.” He eventually dies following severe hallucinations and internal bleeding, even though he received help from a former Lumon surgeon named Reghabi.
After Petey’s death, Reghabi contacts Mark and the two agree to meet. In episode 7, she drops a lot of information on him about Lumon. “I put that chip in your head,” she reveals, “and I’m still the only one who can deactivate it.” She also tries to hit Mark with some Innie guilt to convince him to reintegrate, but their conversation is broken up by Mr. Graner (Michael Cumpsty). He was the head of security at Lumon before Reghabi busted his head open with a baseball bat.
Now that Mark is ready to reintegrate, it’s the perfect time for Reghabi to return. When she explains to Mark that she can help him save his wife in season 2, episode 3, he immediately responds, “Yes. Do it.” Let’s just hope that she knows what she’s doing.
