Reese Witherspoon's stunning Oscars 2013 red carpet look was a family affair.

The actress, 36, revealed that her voluminous hair, tousled down on shoulder was thank to the fact that she's recently become a mum again, for the third time.

Reese' trademark blonde tresses were glossy and healthy looking, with a definite nod to old-school Hollywood glamour.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, Reese smiled at compliments on her hair and said that it was simply down to being a new mum. The actress gave birth to her son Tennessee James Toth, her first child with husband Jim Toth, last September.

Some new mums might be puzzled by Reese crediting her baby with glorious thick hair, as many find that theirs grew thick and strong during pregnancy only to start falling out almost as soon as baby arrives (as Selma Blair experienced).

And it seems Reese is anticipating the same happening to her locks, saying: "Oh you know when you're pregnant your hair grows like mad and then afterwards it all falls out!"

Reese' gorgeous hair style was set off by natural makeup with accented eyes sparkling diamond drop ear rings. She let her hair do the talking around her neckline, opting for no necklace and a strapless midnight blue Louis Vuitton dress.

She added that her 13-year-old daughter Ava from her marriage to Ryan Phillippe had the decided say in her dress decision. And we think she picked well!

Reese' jewellery was also Louis Vuitton. "I'm a one-designer girl tonight!"
