Reddit Just Discovered the Easiest Way to Store Your Beautyblender

Beautyblenders have been every makeup lover's not-so-secret weapon for quite some time now, and for good reason. The miniature sponge flawlessly blends foundation along the contours of your face (yes, even those hard-to-reach places like around the nose and under the eyes), however, the awesome beauty tool certainly isn’t without some faults. The squishy material soaks up quite a bit of foundation with every use, so it's pretty gross to think about that damp applicator rolling around your vanity or makeup bag, soaking up scraps of old makeup, dirt, dust and bacteria along the way.

Obviously, this moist environment coupled with exposure to debris makes your beautyblender the perfect breeding ground for bacteria, which can lead to major breakouts or skin infections if it’s later applied to your face. However, while some of us accepted our beautyblender’s bacteria-filled fate and resolved to more frequent washes in the hopes of keeping it clean, one Reddit user, lizzydizzy93, figured out a simple solution for storing her beautyblender in a place where it won't become a moldy mess: Easter eggs.

While it might sound strange to keep you beautyblender in those tiny, plastic eggs, it's actually pretty genius. Beautyblenders fit inside the eggs perfectly, protecting the sponge from any loose debris that might adhere to them in your makeup bag. As a last bit of advice, one Redditor wrote on the thread that poking a hole or two in the Easter egg is another good way to ensure you dry out the sponge while it's encased in the egg, preventing any mold from developing due to the moisture.

So, there you have it, Reddit solves yet another one of our latest beauty blunders and we can't help but be grateful for this latest skin-saving tip.
