Red Line Oil Arenacross Series Launches with Action-Packed Weekend in Tunica
The inaugural rounds of the Red Line Oil Arenacross series kicked off this past weekend at the Paul Battle Jr. Arena and Exposition Center in Tunica, Mississippi. The track is more prolonged and covers more floor space for more racing sections than the standard Arenacross setup. These are in exposition centers rather than traditional hockey arenas with only four lanes.
Over two nights of intense racing, Monster Energy / Mountain Motorsports Yamaha rider Josh Hill emerged as the standout, claiming victory in the Open AX Pro class, while the 250 AX Pro class crowned different winners each night. Adding excitement to the weekend was the Pit Bike Moto $20,000 Championship series, with the 110 Limited riders tackling the Arenacross track.
In the first 450 AX Pro main event of this new series, Josh Hill, who joined to support the series launch, clinched victory by overtaking 5x Arenacross champion Rock River Yamaha's Michael Hicks and South Carolina's Suspension Solutions Honda's Kyle Bitterman, both of whom completed the podium.
The 250 AX Pro main event on night one saw Michael Hicks secure the top spot, followed by New Jersey’s GasGas's Klark Robbins in second and Virginia’s Triangle Cycle's Yamaha Hamden Hudson rounding out the podium.
Louisiana’s Carson Adams triumphed in the opening 110 Limited main event overall, with Alabama’s Colin Galirado taking second and Tennessee’s Kevin Popaeko finishing third.
On night two, Josh Hill repeated his success, going back-to-back in the 450 AX Pro main event, with Hicks and Bitterman once again rounding out the podium.
On night two, the 250 AX Pro main event brought new faces to the podium, as Hamden Hudson took first, followed by fellow Virginian Cole Forbes in second and Texas’ Carson Mainquist in third.
In the 110 Limited division, Adams also achieved back-to-back victories, with Florida’s Tommy Farace finishing second and Popaeko taking third for the second night.
