The Met Gala 2021 was full to the rafters with sequin bedazzled A-listers, from Kendall Jenner in a sheer, crystal encrusted bodysuit, through to Emily Blunt looking like a heavenly angel. With so much top notch celebrity talent, showcasing such OTT fashion looks, it's a wonder that anyone else could possibly attract attention.

But it happens from time to time, that a non-celebrity invitee draws the gaze of social media. At the Golden Globes in 2019, it was 'Fiji water girl' - a model employed to hold the event sponsor's water bottles - who people took notice of, because she appeared to be edging her way into as many celebrity photo opportunities as possible. So much so, that certain actors looked uncomfortable about it and even had words with the organisers about such blatant and seemingly pushy product placement.

This year's budding social media star showed up at the Met Gala. Hunter Abrams, a New York based photographer whose chosen pronouns are they/them, was invited to the event to capture the celebrities making their grand entrances, but soon they started reaping what they sewed, in that onlookers began to photograph them instead, complimenting them for serving just as much fashion as the invitees.

Here they are in all their flame haired, patchwork cape dress glory:
