Red Dead Redemption 2: 65-year-old player who has completed the game more than 30 times goes viral
A Reddit post in which a gamer speaks about his 65-year-old father’s devotion to Red Dead Redemption 2 has gone viral.
The 2018 open world action game, a sequel to the hit 2010 game Red Dead Redemption, ranks among the best-selling games of all time.
Red Dead 2 received rave reviews at the time of its release, with many critics praising the game’s depth and scale.
However, even though the story mode takes between roughly 50 and 80 hours to complete, Reddit user ApeWatcher revealed his sexagenarian father has beaten the game a staggering 30+ times.
“He plays Red Dead 2 story mode for hours every day,” reads the post. “He finished the story 30+ times at this point.”
“I've tried getting him into other games but he only wants to play Red Dead 2.”
While video games are still too often discussed as being predominantly a pastime for the young, the Reddit post provided a useful opportunity for older gamers to share their enthusiasm.
“58 year old grandma here. I’m still playing as well!” wrote one person in the replies.
Earlier this year, a 75-year-old woman’s emotional essay about her experience playing the game also went viral on Reddit.
