Red-carpet highlights from the 2022 Tony Awards
The 2022 Tony Awards took place at the Radio City Music Hall in New York on Sunday night – and the event drew in a number of Hollywood stars, who helped to toast the best of Broadway from the past 12 months. And, as with any award show, there was plenty of fashion to be enjoyed on the red carpet.
We saw the likes of Vanessa Hudgens, Cynthia Erivo and Ruth Negga dip into the most recent couture collections, while Ariana DeBose worked on a custom look with Boss for her big moment on stage – and we saw Sarah Paulson have some fun in a unique Moschino design.

Vanessa Hudgens was picture perfect in Schiaparelli couture for the award ceremony, choosing a ruched, black, velvet, strapless design, which she paired with statement earrings and an updo. The house is becoming a real favourite around award season – and it's not difficult to see why.

Jessica Chastain in Gucci
Always the epitome of red-carpet elegance, Jessica Chastain channeled that old Hollywood glamour that she has become synonymous with, wearing a pink, silk, off-the-shoulder gown by Gucci for the 2022 Tonys.

Jennifer Hudson in Pamella Roland
It was a big night for Jennifer Hudson, who achieve EGOT status (having an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony to her name) – and she certainly dressed the part. The actress looked beautiful in a black Pamella Roland gown, which featured off-the-shoulder detail and metallic embellishment.

Another star who opted for some sparkles was Ruth Negga. The actress swished across the red carpet in a low-cut, halterneck black gown by Armani Privé, which was covered in sequins.

Adding a little bit of bridal-inspired red-carpet drama to the evening, Cynthia Erivo chose a white, tulle gown by Giambattista Valli, which was complete with a hood.

Lea Michele in Cong Tri
Lea Michele went slightly more low-key for the award ceremony, but looked equally as chic. The actress wore an off-the-shoulder satin gown by Cong Tri, which featured puffy sleeves and cut-out detail at the front.

Ariana DeBose in Boss
Ariana DeBose worked with Boss on a custom look for the 2022 Tonys. The ensemble – a strappy, sequin gown – made a big impact on the red carpet thanks to some dramatic cut-out detail and a high slit. Taking on the task of hosting the show, DeBose wore various other outfits throughout the evening, including a purple tuxedo dress and a white gown.

Sarah Paulson in Moschino
Sarah Paulson also made something of a statement on the Tony Awards red carpet, wearing a leopard-print gown by Moschino, which had puffy sleeves and an exaggerated bubble hem detail.
