Recover with the Chili Con Detox

You will need:

• Oil, 1tbsp

• Onions, carrots and celery, 2 each, chopped

• Garlic, 2 cloves

• Cumin, coriander and chilli powder, 1tsp each

• Beef mince, 500g

• Tomatoes, 2 cans

• Kidney beans, 2 cans

• Artichokes, 1 can

• Kale, 3 handfuls

• Beef stock, 250ml

START THE FIRE

  1. Put your six-pack apron on and heat your oven to 180°C. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and fry the onions, carrots and celery with the garlic for 2-3 minutes.

  2. Now throw in the spices and mince, then stir for 2-3 minutes. Tip in the tomatoes, beans, artichokes and kale with 250ml of stock. Bring to the boil, put the lid on, place in the oven. Cooking done. Busy yourself for 30 minutes (we hear there’s a pretty big football championship on)

  3. Give it a quick stir and add half a pint of hot water if it begins to look a little dry. Allow it to reduce for half an hour, then your week of detoxifying feasts is ready.

SQUAD Tip: For an extra punch of muscle per serve, throw in 170g of quinoa and a tin of chickpeas when you add the mince
