Visitors to Bournemouth's Christmas Tree Wonderland on Saturday were not able to see the full extravaganza due to issues with some of the lights.

Organisers of the event posted to warn people that some of the trees were not lit up.

In a post on Facebook, a spokesperson said: "If you're visiting Christmas Tree Wonderland tonight, you may have seen that a few of our trees aren't lit up.

"Our elves are working really hard to fix them, and they've already said that while snow is welcome over the festive period, rain is most definitely not.

"We hope you enjoy all the other illuminations on the trail as well as the Bournemouth Christmas Market, Ice SKATE & Moguls Alpine Bar Bournemouth and everything else that Bournemouth has to offer tonight."

A yellow weather warning was in place on Saturday night for rain as forecasters warned of deluges across the county.

It's led to flood warnings across part of Dorset on Sunday, as river levels rise and people are warned to take action.

People on social media responded sympathetically, with one person saying: "These things happen. What annoys me is people moaning. People need to appreciate that its a free event. Keep up the good work Bournemouth."

Another person said: "It's a free event, spreading festive cheer and providing something different to the town alongside the Bournemouth Christmas Market and Bournemouth Ice Rink.

"Just enjoy what is happening and on, and appreciate the work that goes into it and the free event for all ages."

We have contacted the organisers and asked if everything will be back up and running tonight.
