Much like when you accidentally leave your headphones at home, the terrifying horror film A Quiet Place quickly made us realise that silence really is the scariest sound. Except there’s way more than your own thoughts to be afraid of in this silent universe: mainly, killer aliens.

You can’t speak, you can’t whisper, you can barely even move in case the sound-feasting monsters hear and tear you limb from limb - fun! Now Paramount Pictures have announced that, while fans wait for the delayed sequel A Quiet Place II to finally hit cinemas, there’ll be a whole other addition to the silent world franchise.

But execs are keeping story details pretty close to their chests. Nothing has been revealed about the spin-off’s story line, other than the fact it somehow connects to the first terrifying A Quiet Place movie.

John Krasinski who directed, co-wrote and starred in the original film alongside his wife Emily Blunt spawned the idea for the mysterious side project. But it will be Jeff Nichols (Mud, Midnight Special) who will direct and write the A Quiet Place film this time around.

Details of the project are still currently pretty sparse, with no filming schedule or cast announcements. There’s not even been half a hint of who will star in the spin-off.

Our feet are still impatiently tapping for A Quiet Place II, which has now been pushed back until April 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Although aliens, apocalypse and the spine-tingling absence of sound will undoubtedly have us sh*t scared once more, the sequel features Cillian Murphy whose face is certain to be a welcome distraction from all the impending doom.
