Congratulations to Queer Eye's Tan France and husband Rob, who have introduced their newborn baby to friends and followers on Instagram.

The 38-year-old Doncaster-born fashion designer shared a photo of himself cradling his son, and revealed that he and his illustrator partner have named him Ismail. Tan also disclosed that Ismail had arrived early and spent three weeks on a newborn intensive care unit before he and Rob could bring him home.

'Give our son a warm welcome,' Tan captioned his picture. 'Ismail France, born July 10th.
He came 7 weeks early, so he’s been in the NICU for the past 3 weeks. But, today, we finally got to bring him home. We love him so, so much. Like, fully obsessed. Our Surrogate is doing so great, post labor, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the greatest gift in our lives.'

The couple were flooded with congratulatory messages and warm wishes from excited friends, with Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan writing: 'Congratulations Tan and Rob, how brilliant!'

Poldark's Eleanor Tomlinson added: 'I'm crying! Congratulations to you both! Welcome to the world Ismail France.'

Queer Eye co-star Jonathan Van Ness commented: 'Not to make everything about me but this is another secret I've successfully kept!!! We're so happy for you & love your family so!!'

Tan – who is part of the Fab Five in Netflix's award-winning reboot of Queer Eye – married Rob in 2007. He announced that they were expecting their first child in April this year, telling fans on social media: 'With the greatest gift/help of the most wonderful surrogate, Rob and I are lucky enough to be on our way to being parents, this summer.

'Something we've wanted for so many years. Our hearts are so full right now. I cannot wait to hold this baby, and to show him so much love.'

Queer Eye seasons 1 to 5 are available to stream now on Netflix.
