After months of ill health and mobility issues – that forced her to drop out of several high-profile events at the last minute – the Queen has invited a companion to live with her at Windsor Castle to make life just that little bit easier.

The new roommate in question is Her Majesty's friend and trusted confidante, Angela Kelly. The 69-year-old has been a close aide to the Queen for quite some time (28 years to be exact) and has moved into a suite next to the Monarch's private quarters – where The Sun reports she has a range of luxuries, including a pretty big TV. "She lives there now. She has moved in," an insider told the newspaper.

Kelly has been brought in to help the Queen, who has been struggling with mobility issues for a while, often needing to use a walking stick to get around. But, this isn't the first time that Kelly has lived with the Monarch. In fact, she first moved in during the COVID-19 pandemic as part of 'HMS Bubble' – a group of trusted royal staffers who isolated and lived with Her Majesty whilst the world was in lockdown – to help with the Queen's day-to-day care.

Whilst moving in with your boss might sound like a nightmare to some, for Kelly and the Queen the set up is entirely perfect, given that they've developed a friendship over the three decades they've known each other. Since working as her Majesty's Personal Advisor and Senior Dresser, Kelly has become part of Her Majesty's exclusive, inner circle.

"I love the Queen and everything about her," Kelly previously told The Telegraph. "She has allowed me to become closer to her over the years. I would never overstep the mark and I remain in awe of the Queen."

Elaborating on their unique relationship, Kelly continued: "We are two typical women. We discuss clothes, make-up, jewellery. We say, 'Would this piece of jewellery look nice with that outfit?'"

And it seems the pair are very close indeed, as Kelly even revealed in one of her memoirs that she breaks the Queen's shoes in for her. "As has been reported a lot in the press, a flunky wears Her Majesty’s shoes to ensure that they are comfortable and that she is always good to go," she wrote in one of her books. "And yes, I am that flunky."
