Having ascended to the British throne in 1952 Queen Elizabeth II was the UK's longest-serving monarch, having reigned for 70 years. Born in 1926, Princess Elizabeth became queen after the death of her father, King George VI, in 1952. Prince Charles
Following his mother's death, the Prince of Wales instantly became King Charles, while his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall will be Queen Consort.©BANG Showbiz - 3/11
Prince William
Next in line to the throne is the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William.William is expected to inherit his father's title the Prince of Wales, and his wife Catherine would then be able to follow his late mother, Princess Diana, in taking on the title Princess of Wales.©BANG Showbiz - 4/11
Prince George

Princess Charlotte
Before George was born in 2013, a law change was carried out to end male-preference primogeniture ended in the British monarchy. This means female royals cannot be displaced by their younger brothers in the line of succession and so William and Catherine's second child, seven-year-old Princess Charlotte, is third in line to the throne.©BANG Showbiz - 6/11
Prince Louis

Prince Harry
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, may not be working royals any more but Charles' youngest son still has a place in the line of succession. He used to come after William in the order, but following the birth of his nephews and niece, he slipped down to fifth.©BANG Showbiz - 8/11
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor

Prince Andrew
Disgraced royal Prince Andrew - the queen and Prince Philip's third son - stepped away from royal duties in 2019 while facing legal action over claims he sexually abused Virginia Giuffre. However, that hasn't taken him out of the line of succession and Andrew remains eighth int he order.
