The Queen Consort wears white and gold embroidered dress for Coronation
The Queen Consort has arrived at Westminster Abbey for the Coronation ceremony wearing a white gown with bold embroidered detailing, and a stunning diamond necklace.
The embroidery appears to be iconography depicting the floral emblems for the United Kingdom, including roses for England. This is reminiscent of the gown Queen Elizabeth II wore on her own Coronation Day, which was white with embroidered floral symbols for the realms of Great Britain.
The King and Queen Consort left Buckingham Palace in the new Diamond Jubilee State Coach, and travelled across London to Westminster Abbey.
The Royal Couple emerged from the Palace gates pulled by six Windsor Grey horses from the Royal Mews while members of various armed forces watched on and the National Anthem played.
The procession to the Abbey began just after twenty past 10 on Saturday morning (6 May). The Jubilee State Coach the Royal Couple travelled in was a gift from Australia to Queen Elizabeth II in honour of her historic jubilee year and is being pulled by horses named Icon, Shadow, Milford Haven, Echo, Knightsbridge and Tyrone.
The King and Queen Consort are passing through London and waved to crowds as they approached closer and closer Westminster Abbey. The route is lined with flags as well as members of the public braving the drizzle to wave to the new monarchs.
Inside the Abbey, celebrity guests including Emma Thompson, Jay Blades, Dame Judi Dench, Joanna Lumley and singer Katy Perry wait alongside former British Prime Minsters and international political figures including Jill Biden, First Lady of the United States.
