Pursuit of Stolen Vehicle Ends in Fiery Head-On Collision

A police pursuit of a stolen vehicle in Western Australia ended in dramatic fashion on October 13 when the vehicle crossed the median strip of a highway and collided with another vehicle after a police stinger was deployed.

The incident occurred in North Yunderup, according to the Western Australia Police Force.

Police were in pursuit of a Subaru that had been stolen the day before.

“An evade police incident occurred and around 10:20 am, a stinger was successfully deployed along Forrest Highway, just before the Pinjarra Road overpass,” police said.

The Subaru then crossed the median strip and onto the southbound lanes of the highway, where it collided with a Toyota Rav4, police said.

The driver of the Subaru received minor injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospitals. The driver of the Toyota Rav4, a woman in her 50s, received minor injuries and was taken to Peel Health Campus, police said.
