PSA: Blake Lively has ditched her signature blonde locks and is now a brunette
There are few things in like that are guaranteed, but Blake Lively being a blonde is one of them. We were left spitting out our coffee this morning when we saw the actress casually post her new brunette hair transformation on her Instagram stories. We really needed a little warning for this type of news, Blake.
We have no other info other than the pic the star posted, but we're already invested in this new Blake brunette era. We love her as a blonde, but seeing her with dark hair really does hit different. In case you missed it, this is said Insta story I'm talking about:
We've done some extensive research on the new 'do and we may have found the reason for this new shade. The Gossip Girl alum was recently cast in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's TikTok-famous book, It Ends with Us. So, our guess is that filming, or at least prep, may have started for the film. Eeek, we're counting down the days.
It's not the first time the actress has gone brunette. If you cast your minds back to 2011, Blake dyed her blonde locks once again for a role in the film Green Lantern.
I think we're all with her husband Ryan Reynolds that this particular superhero movie isn't going down in the history books for it's great plot line, but it is where our favourite duo met, so we're willing to overlook the questionable (read: terrible) CGI for introducing Hollywood's funniest couple.
We're not sure if Blake will switch back to her blonde shade once filming if over, or if she'll embrace the brunette life once and for all. Only time will tell, XOXO.
