Proud new grandma Sarah Ferguson has shared a heart-warming message on social media following the arrival of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's baby boy earlier this month.

Alongside a selection of photos of baby August and his parents, Eugenie and Jack, the Duchess of York expressed her joy, and called the little one "a beautiful blessing".

"As grandparents, the Duke and I are thrilled and blessed at the arrival of our grandson August Philip Hawke Brooksbank," she wrote on Twitter.

"He is a beautiful blessing and a bringer of such love and joy to all our family.

The duchess continued by making a lovely tribute to daughter Eugenie and son-in-law Jack, and praising their parenting skills.

"I am so proud of Jack and Eugenie, they are and will be wonderful parents," she continued.

Baby August was born on 9 February, with the happy news of his arrival shared on the royal family's official Instagram account.

His full name, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, was revealed the following Saturday (20 February), alongside a selection of sweet family photos of the little one with parents Eugenie and Jack.

Welcome to the world baby August!
