We all know how flawless Priyanka Chopra always looks on the red carpet, but the actress has revealed that she narrowly avoided embarrassment when she experienced a wardrobe malfunction at the Cannes Film Festival.

Chopra recounted to her followers on Instagram how once on the red carpet in 2019, the zip on her vintage Roberto Cavalli gown had ripped just moments before.

“I may look chill on the outside here, but little did everyone know I had just been freaking out on the inside,” she wrote.

"The delicate zipper to this vintage @roberto_cavalli dress broke as they were zipping it up minutes before I had to leave for the red carpet at Cannes last year. The solution? My amazing team had to sew me into the dress on the way in the five-minute car ride!"

This wasn’t the first red carpet mishap she’s experienced. During the Met Gala in 2018, Chopra was all smiles despite enduring an uncomfortable moment on the red carpet.

"My second Met Gala outfit was this blood-red Ralph Lauren beautiful outfit with the gold hood," she said, reports People. "But the corset under that thing, I couldn't breathe. I felt like it reshaped my ribs. So hard to sit during dinner and I obviously couldn't eat too much during that night."

Over the years, Chopra has clearly learnt how to stay poised when her wardrobe doesn't quite go to plan. Back in her pageant days, Chopra remembers winning the Miss World 2000 competition aged 18, while literally holding her outfit together.

"The year 2000 and I won Miss World, my dress was taped on to me. By the time I won at the end I was sweating so much because it was so stressful that the entire tape came off," she told People.

Chopra is currently living in London with her husband, Nick Jonas.
