The Princess of Wales jumps on The Traitors trend with tartan midi skirt – here are our favourites to shop now
The Princess of Wales appears to have jumped on The Traitors fashion trend, as she stepped out in a tartan midi skirt in Wales on Wednesday (26 February).
Kate opted for a muted tartan skirt in autumnal tones, which fell to midi length in a classic A-line cut.
The Princess paired the skirt with a classic black roll neck top and khaki twill blazer, giving us serious throwbacks to Claudia Winkleman's headline-grabbing fashion in this year's The Traitors.
A tartan skirt is a timeless staple in any wardrobe which can be worn year after year, and is the perfect winter print for the colder months. Incorporating the pattern into a flattering midi skirt also makes it feel modern, while remaining super versatile.
Like Kate, you can layer up over tights - or even leggings if you need a little extra insulation - and pair with boots. Or, when the weather gets warmer, add a crisp t-shirt and trainers for something casual, plus it would look perfect with a pair of brogues in the office.

The Princess travelled to Wales alongside Prince William as the couple were visiting Pontypridd, which was one of the towns hit by flooding during Storm Bert and Storm Darragh in December last year.
During their visit, the Prince and Princess of Wales met local residents and heard about their experiences during that period, and what the impact has been on the town. They visited the Meadow Street Community Garden and Woodland in the town, which the Prince and Princess described as a "place of healing, connection, and community," in their Instagram post.
They also got stuck in at the local market, where they got involved making and handing out trays of Welsh cakes.
Photographs of the couple show being greeted warmly by crowds who waves Welsh flags and offered bunches of daffodils, the national flower of the country. Kate also wore a daffodil attached to her jacket in tribute to the nation. Over her stylish ensemble, Kate also added an elegant long-line coat in bright red, subtly matching the colour of the dragon on the flag.
