Princess Kate Nods to This Vintage Trend Via Her Latest Monochrome Suit
It’s obvious the Princess of Wales can’t resist an opportunity to suit up. Since returning to her royal duties following the end of her children’s summer vacation earlier this month, Princess Kate has made several appearances in different iterations of a sleek, modern monochrome suit. But in her latest look, the royal made a fashion reference to a trend that dominated the ’70s.
Kate made a solo appearance today at London’s Streets of Growth, a not-for-profit youth intervention charity that engages with people ages 15 to 25 at risk of experiencing exploitation, violence, and criminality.
For the outing, Kate opted for yet another sleek, all-beige suit, which consisted of a tailored single-breasted blazer and a pair of pleated high-rise trousers. The bottoms featured a vintage silhouette not often seen on the princess: bell-bottoms. However, Kate modernized the outfit by finishing it off with a white scoop-neck T-shirt tucked into the pants, plus matching suede pumps and minimal jewelry.
During her visit, Kate met with Streets of Growth’s staff to talk about how they work to transform their clients’ lives. Individuals who have received support from the charity also got the chance to talk to the princess, during which they explained the positive impact the organization has had on their lives.
Yesterday, Kate suited up for another engagement at the Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton in Somerset, which marked her first appearance at the station since King Charles III appointed her as the Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm.
