Princess Eugenie shares unseen baby bump photos

·2-min read

Princess Eugenie is the proud mum of seven-month-old son August, and we're used to seeing her share cute snaps of the little one pretty often. But rather than treating fans to another baby pic, Eugenie has just thrown it back to her pregnancy days by posting unseen photos of her bump.

The royal snaps show Eugenie when she was filming a TV show for Sky Arts - reportedly last summer - about masterpiece paintings on display in Buckingham Palace.

Alongside photos of her admiring paintings in a dark floral dress, with her former baby bump on show, Eugenie said she enjoyed speaking about "what art and these artworks in particular mean to me", calling the filming experience "a privilege."

Art is a topic the Princess is extremely knowledgeable about. She studied art history and English literature at Newcastle University, and after graduating, worked for an online auction firm before becoming a director at the London art gallery Hauser & Wirth.

In a clip posted to the Royal Collection Trust's Instagram page, Eugenie talks in more detail about the paintings on display at Buckingham Palace and her passion for everyone getting the chance to see and interpret art in their own way.

"Each time you walk in the picture gallery it’s like ‘Oh my gosh,'" she said, adding that she personally finds the gallery to be a really immersive place.

"I take myself back to the year they were [painting]… I dive into the canvas."

Speaking about the personal nature of viewing art, the Princess added: "Art has to be about how you feel about it. Someone can’t tell you how to feel… it’s how you understand it."

It's brilliant to hear Eugenie talking about something she's so expert in and passionate about, and - of course - fun to reminisce on her days carrying little August.

It's not long now until Eugenie's sister Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (also known as Edo) welcome their first child together, too. In a recent interview, Beatrice seemed to confirm her little one will arrive in October. We can't wait for another royal baby - and all the adorable pics that come with one.
