Yesterday (20 September), the Royal Family revealed the exciting news that Princess Beatrice had welcomed her first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The happy announcement was shared in a special statement, which said the couple's daughter was born late on Saturday night (18 September) after Beatrice was taken into Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on Friday.

The statement read: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter."

It continued, "The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news. The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf [Edoardo's son from a previous relationship]."

Following the announcement, Princess Beatrice's sister, Princess Eugenie, has taken to Instagram to share a sweet message celebrating the birth of her niece alongside a photo of the happy couple. "To my dearest Beabea and Edo," she wrote, "Congratulations on your new angel. I can't wait to meet her and I'm so proud of you. We're going to have so much fun watching our children grow up. Love Euge."

She continued, "To my new niece, I love you already and think you're just awesome from the photos.. we're going to have so much fun ⁣together. Love your Auntie Euge." How sweet!

It's safe to say royal fans are just as excited as Princess Eugenie, as her post has already racked up over 200k likes. In the comments section, well-wishers shared their messages to the new parents too. "Congratulations to the happy parents and welcome to the world little girl," said one royal fan, while another commented "So exciting!! Congratulations to all the family on this new blessing and arrival."

Princess Eugenie herself welcomed her first child earlier this year with her husband Jack Brooksbank. The happy news was announced on social media by the official Royal Family account, with a post that read: "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered of a son today, 9th February 2021, at 0855hrs at The Portland Hospital."

Unlike Princess Beatrice's daughter, Eugenie's son August does not have a royal title. Although, both royal babies feature in the line of succession.

Congratulations to Beatrice and Edo on their new arrival!
