Princess Eugenie pays beautiful tribute to Princess Beatrice after she welcomes first child

Princess Eugenie has congratulated sister Princess Beatrice on welcoming her first child in a moving post on Instagram. Beatrice gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday, 18 September, the royal family confirmed on Monday (20 September).

The 31-year-old royal posted a photo a holiday picture of Beatrice with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and added the heartfelt caption: 'To my dearest Beabea and Edo⁣... Congratulations on your new angel. I can't wait to meet her and I'm so proud of you. We're going to have so much fun watching our children grow up. Love Euge.'

Eugenie then wrote a heartwarming message dedicated to her newborn niece, which read: 'To my new niece. I love you already and think you're just awesome from the photos... We're going to have so much fun ⁣together. Love your Auntie Euge.'

Princess Beatrice, the Queen's granddaughter, gave birth to a baby girl on weighing 6lb 2oz, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on Saturday.

In a post on Twitter, the princess said she was 'so delighted to share the news of the safe arrival of our daughter', before thanking the midwife team and everyone at the hospital 'for their wonderful care'.

A statement from Buckingham Palace said: 'The new baby's grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news. The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.

'Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother, Christopher Woolf.'

Beatrice became an aunt for the first time in February, when Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their baby boy, named August.
